The rooms were a little small but the bathroom was an excellent size. This was great for a few days break though. (We did have a twin room) Staff were very kind and helpful and we were able to leave our luggage securely all day with concierge as we had a late flight. Check-in and out was quick and simple which we like. Location was brilliant and I recommend going to Leon for Moules Frites!

Yes it's the first time, and certainly the last one. Bed too small (I'm tall=1.89 cm), the bathroom was too small. No hairdry.

Location and surroundings are very good. Map is wrong, but they did not think so. It took me 40 minutes to find the hotel. No.(1) exit of metro Vavin station.

The hotel has seen better days. Admittedly the price of 160Euros/night might not be considered as "expensive" for Paris centre but I felt that the place could do with some heavy duty maintenance. The water in the bathtub would not drain (reported problem at the reception but was not fixed), electrics in poor order (cover of electric outlet on the wall kept on falling) etc. Best part of the hotel was the breakfast area with fresh items eg croissants etc available everymorning. Pictures of the hotel as advertised on the web were misleading. It turns out that exactly the same pictures are in the lift of the hotel but they have nothing to do with the hotel. Perhaps they are related to "Villa Luxembrourg" which has the same name with the hotel. Location is overall ok. Its a good walk to the closest by RER station. Latin Qaurter is even further. A few resturants around but overall on the expensive side. The hotel itself is affiliated with a restaurant close by, "Hipopotamous", with ok food. But service is poor. Tried to have dinner one night but noone came to take an order for ~20mins and decided to go. Hotel staff have some problems conversing with english. Somewhat surprising considering the number of english speaking clientelle in the hotel. Perhaps because the web advert (see above).

The price is really too high for such a structure: somewhere it is written that the hotel is a 4 stars, somewhere else that is is 3, but rooms are very small and in some cases bad mainteined. People at the reception are not so kind.

--Arrived at hotel at 1030,room avilable at 2PM. --Very good location for RER and METRO. --Easy 10-15 minute walk to heart of Rive Gauche. --Restaurants and patisserie's right around hotel. --Staff very good to deal with. --Room was not vacuumed for entire stay. Clean otherwise. --Room size about what you expect from inner city Europe. You can live with this. --Air Conditioning was very good, controlled in the room. --A bit pricey but time of year and Paris Airshow might have had an affect. Pretty good value for the cost. --Travelers that are not on a very tight budget will be fine here, all ages and any sex. Area is safe at all hours. --One lift. If you are handicapped, keep that in mind. It was down for about 6 hours one day.

Near the Hotel is a Metrostation (Vives) and a garage ( 24 Euro per day) The hotel has a very good position, the service is good, the rooms are very small I´ve enjoyed Villa L. The price was brilliant

The first impression is the most important. I think the employee on the hotel-desk doesn't know that. Instead of taking charge of us on the arrival he prefered to talk to an collegue and wich was giving him some change. After that he was counting that money before giving attention to us... Was it because I mentionned that i did my reservation on the internet? The room and the bath was very small but clean. The windows isolation is good, the noise from the main street doesnt disturb us.

The hotel was in a very convenient location for walking to some of the places of interest in Paris. It was also near some very good restaurants - we particularly liked restaurant Ferdinand which served excellent food and was good value for money.

I ended up getting a very small room with no television and the bed was a fold out sofa. The bed was uncomfortable and I felt that I paid too much for what I received. I also did not get my requested wake up call and almost missed my bus to the airport. I was quite unsatisfied.

Perfectly fine place to stay for a couple of nights, excellent location and clean and comfortable accomodation. Paid 100 euros per night, which was well worth it, though regular prices of 200 euros + per night would have been too expensive.

I had booked one of the suites (for my wife and I and 2 young children), but this was not not available when we arrived. We were given two rooms instead. On the first night the rooms were on different floors. For the next two nights adjacent interconnected rooms were provided, but that is not the same as the suite that was booked.

I stayed in 6 different hotels in the span of 3 weeks but only one in Paris. The room is very small by North American standards but is average by European standards. I stayed in one other hotel in France which is twice the size at the same price but it was outside of the city. Location is excellent. The Luxembourg garden and restaurants are nearby. Other than its size, I can't find anything wrong with this place. I would recommend it as long as you don't spend a lot of time in the room.

We requested a double room only to find that our bed was actually a pull out sofa. Our room was obviously an apartment that had been split in to two seperate rooms, ours being the living quarters. Our 1st day there was no hot water, on our final day the shower spat out brown dirty water. Won't be staying here again.

Hotel and room was exactly as you would expect for the price. Very clean, sheets changed every day. Room small but perfectly livable as a base to see Paris. Nice view onto the main street, but very quite at night. Location is superb, bars and restaurants aplenty, metro and RER links minutes away. Definitely stay here again. Goto La Siesta restaurant, literally 50 metres from the hotel. 9.5/10

Nice price for a nice hotel in central part of Paris. Everything you need is in the surroundings. St. Michel is at 15 minute walk. The only concern is the lack of a lamp for the night in the room.

Le camere sono minuscole e nemmeno troppo pulite per un hotel a quattro stelle. Unica cosa positiva: la colazione e la piccola sala per la colazione stessa.

The staff at the front desk of Villa Luxembourg were wonderful. They were helpful, efficient, and friendly. Joseph was especially nice and even improved our overall visit with his wonderful and charming personality. The hotel was roomy, pleasant, quiet, clean, and had a terrific feel. The wake up calls were friendly and punctual. The windows really kept out the noise so you could enjoy the Blvd. view without hearing it all night. The rooms were clean and they gave you everything you needed. There was a minibar that was nice to have. The breakfast room was very nice and the breakfast was full of options - so if you get a rate including breakfast - its well worth it. Overall a really great place to stay! I highly recommend it.

could not get into room on the last night due to vandalism - somone glued the door shut. Waited 2 hours in the corridor and had to ask for another room whilst soemone was trying to fix the door. Could not get breakfast the next morning or get to our belongings until about 20 minutes before we were due to check out.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The air conditioning wasn't working through the whole time. I have spoken to several employees who have been incapable and overwhelmed to solve the problem. I could not speak to the manager about this issue either, simply because he was on vacation as one of his employees told me. I could get a hold on him the day I left. He was trying to tell me that the hotel has a special contract with the parisian electric power company which provides air conditioning only in the "summer", and it is NEVER EVER 20 to 25 degree celcius or even higher in May in Paris. So they never needed air conditioning in May befor...miracle!!! One day the elevator wasn't working...I wonder if the hotel has a special contract with the power company for that as well?! So, either you could sleep with the window closed, then it was impossible to sleep because of the heat, or you could open the window, but then you had a sleepless night because the Boulevard Montparnasse is a very noisy street no matter what day or night time. Either way, it was a sleepless stay in Paris for five days. (Self-evident not only I complained but every single other guest! The reaction was always the same.) Next thing, I have never seen such an incapable staff not being aware of something that is called "good behaviour" in a four star hotel: I was asking for the nearest Metro-Station to La Comedie Francaise. All I could get was I stupid face and a "Huh? What is that?" She juggled with five different books not being able to help me...Obviously that question was too sophisticated for her. But she wasn't able to help a guest standing right next to me either: the woman was asking for the way to Versailles! So this a usual question from tourists in Paris. Shouldn't she know that? On my departure day the cleaning woman came in at 8.30 a.m. and stayed although I told her that I just want to pack my things because I am leaving. She did not understand French or English. So I had to

I MADE A RESERVATION OF TWO TWIN (SEPARATE BEDS) ROOMS AND RECEIVED TWO DOUBLE (TWO SEPARATE VERY SMALL BEDS STUCK TO EACH OTHER WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF MOVING THEM APPART UNLESS ONE BED WAS MOVED TO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM) ROOMS. ALTHOUGH WE NEVER ASKED OR EVEN WORST WERE NEVER ASKED WE WERE GIVEN TWO NO SMOKING ROOMS WHICH WERE NOT EVEN LABELED AS SUCH!!! THE ONLY PLACE THE FOUR OF US COULD SMOKE WAS THE TINY RECEPTION/ENTRANCE AREA WHICH MOST OF THE TIME WAS BUSY WITH GUESTS CHECKING IN OR OUT. SHEETS WERE NOT CHANGED UNTIL THE FOURTH NIGHT OF OUR STAY. THE SHOWERS IN BOTH ROOMS HAD PROBLEMS RUNNING AND IN ONE OF THE ROOMS THE BATH WAS BLOCKED SO THE WATER WAS TAKING AGES TO EMPTY. THE HOTEL WAS CLEARLY UNDERSTAFFED AND AT TIMES RECEPTION AND MAIN ENTRANCE WERE LEFT DANGEROUSLY UNATTENDED. AS AN EX GENERAL MANAGER OF A THREE STAR HOTEL IN LONDON WITH 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AT THAT POST, WITH DIFFICULTY AND REGRET, I GRADE THIS HOTEL THREE STARS. THE MANAGEMENT HAVE TO DO A LOT TO IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF THIS LITTLE HOTEL OR STOP ADVERTISING IT AS A FOUR STAR.

I am certainly satisfied with this relatively small but very cozy hotel. Breakfast is very much parisien which is great and I really love it. Next trip I'll come with my family and I will choose this hotel again for sure. I can recommend this hotel to my fiends as well without hesitation for its coziness, friendly employees, good location, and its reasonable price.
