Our room was very small, no fridge. We had one small piece of soap between us for three nights. In the web pages free parking was announced. This turned out to be with certain modifications - it was only during the weekend this was the case. We ended up with a £60,- parking fine. We were in the belief that parking outside the hotel was reserved for hotel guests. We paid the fine immediately however and had it reduced by half. A bit impersonal - saw only one person who served breakfast.

Massive family room with plenty of room for the two of us and our dog. Only improvement would be to put a toilet in the room and make it full ensuite (there is a shower) as there is plenty of room. Good welcome, friendly staff and as much as you could want to eat for breakfast. Recommended

Your web page gave the hotel 3 stars the hotel sign said 2 star, as we requested a 3 star hotel I was disappointed that your info was different or out of date. I would class the hotel as a 2 star. Please note I have given a rating of zero to questions I can not answer as I did not see or use it.

The lady who welcomed us in the evening was more than kind. Without her help we wouldn't have be able to contact by phone our next staying place. Not sophisticated but cozy: definitely this hotel has a pleasant relaxing "victorian" atmosphere

Terrible! Hotel questo? Stanza n.2 terrificante!! Ragnatele sul soffitto, lavandino sporco all'arrivo.

The UK is expensive but this hotel is pretty good value for money in terms of what we've come across. Friendly staff, large breakfast, and you're walking distance from all the main sights. We'd recommend it and would stay here again.

I was travelling with my boyfriend. This was our first stay at the Brunswick hotel, our first stay in Edinburgh actually. We walked to the hotel from Waverly station, very easy to find. We arrived at 19.45 and I had not given notice that we were arriving so late, but we were very well welcommed.

IT WAS A NICE HOTEL, THE BREAKFAST REALY NICE THE ONLY PROBLEM IT WASN´T A SMOKING ROOM BUT IT WAS OK YOU CAN SMOKE IN NO WHERE IN EDINBURGH. NEAR THE CITY CENTRE AND I FELT LIKE AT HOME.

I was looking for more of a B&B than a hotel in a good location and this was a good choice. No elevator so we toted bags to the third floor, no internet, but overall a very enjoyable stay.

people could not have been nicer, guesthouse had all the basics you would like away from home. Use of Hotel misleading. it was cheap for Edinburgh, and it was nice to be free to come and go as one pleased.

We expected it to be a hotel with all the facilities that a hotel would have but this is to all intents and purposes a guest house.

Requested and got a room on the top floor. Very quiet room, but the bed was a bit hard. Breakfast was late one morning. Black pudding and haggis (no kippers) may be ordered for breakfast. 15min walk to Princess Street, 25min to the castle. 4£ taxi fare from Princess Street.

My 8 year-old son and I stayed here for 2 days while visiting Edinburgh. The hot breakfast was much appreciated, with enough variety for the 2 of us. The room and bathroom were quite small and the beds were not all that great (the towels were wonderful though), but we didn't really mind. Location is excellent and very convenient to all locations via close bus lines. I would stay here again. (single mom and son)

the breakfast staff were excellent and friendly however after that there was no evidence of any staff. having a room off the ground floor was a difficulty getting suitcases up quite a long stair. it was pricey by comparison to the place we stayed at the previous night in Edinburgh. The bed was unbelievably and unnecessarily hard and uncomfortable.

Venere.com did not send a confirmation letter/email to the Brunswick which meant that they were not expecting us. Due to this we were forced to wait outside a locked hotel for 30 minutes before another guest kindly let us inside, where all staff had gone home for the day thinking that they were not ecpecting any other guests. Luckily after extensive searching we managed to locate a mobile phone number for a member of staff who promptly met us at the hotel to assist us. Fortunately they had a spare room for us. The Brunswick Hotel was very nice but after waiting for over an hour just to check in, venere.com should perhaps make sure that clients/hotels confirm they have received a booking.

More of a B&B than a hotel, but the room had TV & en-suite bathroom, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The highlight was the breakfast: selection of cereals, fruit, juices etc plus choice of cooked breakfast, cooked to order (eggs, beans, bacon etc)

For the money the hotel was adequate. Did not think much of having to go outside the room and round the corner to use the toilet. Rooms adequate, but ready for a refurbishment.

Only problem was that we had to use a key to get into the building and we had 3 people in the room. Since there was no receiptionist during part of the evening there was no way to contact the person in the room. Therefore we all had to get in at the same time or plan for a time for someone to be at the front door. Breakfast was good and there was a laundrematte close by.

Big disappointment with Edinburgh. Construction all around hotel. Food was a joke.

The location of the Brunswick was quite convenient. However, the facility for a 3 star establishment was below par. Our room was adequate. The loo was tiny, I was unable to close the door whilst sitting for my knees (I am only 6 feet 1 inch) hit the door.

I would consider this more as a B & B than an Hotel.A bit more attention to detail would have improved our stay. Two broken cups in the bedroom, and the breakfast could have been very nice but for the fact it was undercooked. On the plus side, a very handy location.

Wonderful building, good room, great location. Only drawback is that we were on the first floor and the front door slammed all night with young people coming and going.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast is good and the staff friendly and welcoming. There are lots of buses stopping nearby. On the negative side : Half of the rooms are on the mansarda and must be reached by long stairs (about 50 steps, no lift);there is too much light in the night/morning since the windows cannot be properly screened. The location is good but the map does not give sufficient detail and can be misleading if we do not realize that the hotel is at the southern end of the road.

We enjoyed our stay in Brunswick Hotel. The electric kettle in one room does not have a proportionate cable. But this is just a minor matter. Staff was very friendly. If we come back to Edinburgh we would book the Brunswick Hotel again. Thank you.

The Brunswick is called a hotel, but it is really a guest house, with 3 floors and no lift.Still, it is a good deal, close enough to the Center to walk with frequent buses too.

We enjoyed our stay, but we have stayed in better. The breakfast time was a little early between 8am-9am and 8.30-9.30 on Sundays. Bedding and towels spotless but the shower room could do with a make over!(but was clean)The hotel was very central for Princess St and taxis very plentiful if you wanted to go further afield.

Narrow rooms and staircases. Expensive but probably normal for Edinburgh. For the same amount we stayed in a "castle" in the countryside. Breakfast OK and very nice staff. There could be a problem with parking.

The only very small criticism I would have is that when the rooms were cleaned after our first night there the coffee/tea/milk supplies were not replenished. Otherwise a super weekend.

The room was very pleasant and quiet. The only problem was with the shower, and hot water in general. The water would not get hotter than lukewarm, and the shower had lost its holder so was not free-standing.

basic rooms, the dining area was cramped, and there was no bar which you would expect in a hotel. We also found it difficult to park our car.

Very friendly owner (father), excellent location near city center, rooms extremly clean but a little bit narrow, close to the hotel you´ll find some good pubs. Well, the price for the rooms is relatively high, but so is Scotland, and compared to other hotels, the Brunswick is good value. I´ll come back!
