This hotel represents excellent value for London (which tends to be expensive), and is situated very close (less than 200 metres) from Paddington Station. The room is reasonably sized and well-maintained. Breakfast is included, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately it was very noisy on the day I stayed there, as there was a festival in the park next to the hotel, but hopefully this is not a regular occurrence! However, overall, I would recommend this hotel without hesitation, as I believe it offers great value.

Good location, with friendly and competent staff. I was warned beforehand that my room might be a bit noisy as it was facing the road, but with the window shut the noise could hardly be heard and I slept like a baby. The room was fine (us Scandinavians would always have liked it cleaner but it was better than many hotels I've stayed in). The hotel is not an option for disabled travellers because of the stairs and narrow doors. Breakfast was ok but hardly as good as it's made out to be. Overall a good hotel in this price range, and I will definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel is exellently situated with loads of restaurants near by. Many attractions in walking (or a short bus trip) distance. Some of the restaurants near Paddington are very crowded with tourists and not the best quality, but try to go in direction Edgeware road. You will find many quiet, well run restaurants there. The park outside is like the garden of the hotel, very nice in varm days. The staff was very skillful and careing. Full English breakfast is included, wich you don't find everywere in London. The breakfast-room was allways busy, but even so, we never had to wait to get a table. The breakfast staff were very friendly. The main problem of the hotel is the size of the rooms and the size of the beds. Expect tiny rooms with narrow beds. Twin beds are not allways available. The worst thing is the bathrooms. To dress there, or even put your purse in there is not possible. In one of the rooms we rented (a triple and a double) we couldn't even go to the toilet without opening the trousers before we got in. The stairs up is very narrow, and there is no lift. The carpets on the stairs are loose some places, and made us nearly fall a couple of times. Our bathroom were newly decorated, and the rooms were not to bad, allthough very plain. A fan in the room made a huge difference because there are no aircondition. The standard of English hotels, is known to be the worst in Europe, but still very pricy. This hotel is one of them. With that said, this hotel is only one of many of the same bad standard.

Our room was small, but nice. We had a lovely view out our window overlooking the park area. Bathroom was small, but we've had smaller. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The low rating on quietness was due to the usual nighttime noises of downtown London. Overall, nice accommodations for the price. Very good location and easy to get to train and tube. We will stay again next visit.

The staff were cordial and helpful and seemed to be working hard to maintain standards. They served a decent breakfast in clean facilities each morning. We paid for a double room and actually had a triple room which was ok. in size, but the bathroom was tiny! There needs to be some updating done with this facility. There were holes in the sheer curtains, and there were parts of the carpet not attached on the stairs. The stairs were very steep and it was difficult carrying luggage up the 3 or 4 floors to the rooms. Definitely not for persons with any mobility issues or for elderly. No railing on portions of the stairs. Descriptions for accessing the facility from the tube do not indicate that there are no lifts at many major stations, and this necessitates carrying luggage once again up many stairs. My husband and I had a front room and it was very noisy at night; our daughters had a rear room and no problems. Air conditioning or more fans for hot weather would be helpful.

Nice hotel surrounding, and people there are wonderful, but the single room is really to small, and the bath awful, no hotel in Italy could work with rooms like that! anyway, breakfast and people help to forget the other things...and when I'm in London I usually go out and use the room just to sleep.

Great location, and the staff is wonderful. Stayed at the Cardiff for a few days before my business trip started, I would definitely return to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is great, just wish they had more choices on the menu. Sort of got sick of the Traditional English breakfast everyday. Request a room 2nd fl. or higher, the single room I had was in front of the main entrance, and I could hear a lot of foot traffic coming in and out late at night.

This little hotel is run by very nice and helpful folks, and is in a easy-to-find location about 2 short blocks from the Paddington train station, where there is an Express that takes you direct to Heathrow in 15 minutes. It's a great price for a place to sleep, just don't expect luxurious surroundings. My single room was very clean, but quite tiny and basic, just a narrow bed and toilet/shower, no more, but relatively comfortable. If I stretched out my arms I could touch both walls! Some street noise, no lift, and no view (rooms that face the street are probably more scenic). Good breakfast for the price (cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, bacon, eggs).

Our room was at the basement of the hotel although we had booked a month earlier. We asked for an another room at the other floors but we were told that no room was available. They only told us that we could change the room the second night but we had to pay more. On the internet it was not mentionned that there are rooms at the basement. There was a window to the street were we could only see people legs as our room was at a lower level than the street. There was also a lot of noise as we could hear the trains of the tube passing. The toilet was too small and there was no window so there was always a smell of toilet in the room. We could not leave the room's window open as it was very easily accessible from the street and there could be danger of a thievery. The people at the reception were not very friendly appart from a girl. Only the people working for the breakfast were very helpful and kind. The relationship between price and quality was very poor. I'm sure that we could have an another hotel at the price of 105 pounds/night for a triple room.

I stayed 3 days on the room #60 at the 4th floor. In knew that the elevator wasnt available, it wasnt a problem for me. My room was clean, so it was towels and the bathroom. At the 4th floor I couldnt hear noises from the road. Bathroom was nice and more luxurious than an bathroom of other hotels in the same range. Reiception service was effective (safe-box service included) as well the breakfast room and food. These are the improvable things: 1) The window (just over the bed-pillow) allowed to enter a little cold air (I had to pad it with a towel) 2) The hot water for the shower was pumped at the 4th floor with a pump that didnt guarantee a continue flux of hot water (even following the instructions sticked on the bedroom door) 3) The same pump was noisy when any other room of the same floor asked for hot water 3) Phone wasnt ou tof order 4) TV remote control batteries was probabily flat. (I didnt ask for replacement) In general anyway it was a good hotel, I'll go back there again on the next occasion.

This is my second time at Cardiff hotel. First time I was traveling alone and I took a single room. This time I traveled with my girlfriend and we took a double room. The room was fine and my girlfriend and I had a good stay. Bathroom was clean. The only problem was with the shower. You either had very hot water or very cold water. It was difficult to find the spot in between. Other than that we had a good stay and we would return to this property in the future. The location is perfect, very close to Paddington station.

I was on a very quick stop over in London for 24 hours. The room was small but meet my needs completly of a place to sleep for the night at an affordable price. It is only a few blocks to Paddington Station with the airport shuttle train and on a popular city bus route. The desk staff were very helpfull and friendly explaining how I could get to the theatre district ("Wicked" was amazing)and how to take the city buses for a late night self tour of the city. The breakfast which is included was beyond my expectations. The buffet had your regular cold breakfast items and juice but I was pleasantly surprised to also recieve a hot entree with eggs, bacon, and sausage with toast. This was my first visit to London and I would love to visit it and the Cardiff Hotel again.

This is a reasonable hotel well suited for young people with flexible needs in terms of space and facilities. I would not recommend it to someone in need of a comfortable room with slightly more space than bare technical necessity. Our room was in the basement with extremely little space, poor daylight and lacking even a shelf for the toothbrush. Although inexpenive, this was definitely not value for money, and there was no indication of the skimpish room in our confirmation. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was decent, location in pleasant neighbourhood with good public transport and several good restaurants nearby.

The hotel is run by highly committed eastern European staff, which gives it some charm as well as limitations in so far as service is concerned. Our room was pretty small and awkward to get to, shower variable in temperature. Breakfast was good value, Excellent location, just a block from Paddington Station, and with plenty of cheap pubs and restaurants nearby. Overpriced comparatively.

I sucks that there was no elevator, but the real problem was that my room had no heat and the toilet was broken. The only other issue I had was that the rooms smelled like smoke.

The location was very convenient, a few minutes walk from Paddington Station. My room was quite large for a single traveller, but was in the basement. And the only window was facing the opposite room's window, so I could hear other guests' voices quite clearly. These things being said, I slept fairly well after all. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite all right. So if you are looking for a budget hotel in London just for one night, Cardiff Hotel might well be worth considering.

We have traveled all over Europe and stayed in many hotels and this was by far the WORST!!! The rooms were horrible. The floor sloped, the ceiling was caving in and the shower didn't work. The hotel manager was never available to address our concerns and the staff seemed clueless on how to deal with them. I would definitely go there again. It was so close to PAddington station and we could ride the underground all over London. THe breakfast was great and the waitresses were very nice and attended to our food needs for each breakfast. We did the triple for three people and I found the room a great size; it was three times the size of the Russian cruise ship rooms that we had just gotten off of. Size is relative; and I was ok with the Cardiff. we didnt spend a lot of time in the room, anyways. There was plenty of storage space for our stuff and a fan if it got too warm in the room. It was an easy place to get to from London; we got on the Heathrow Express and fifteen minutes later, we were a block and a half away. I also loved the grapefruit every morning at breakfast.

Although the hotel itself was not terribly comfortable (small rooms and minute bathroom), the staff were helpful and the service we received was good. There were no surprises. The location of the hotel makes it worth it all. The price may seem a bit too much for what you get as far as the rooms go, but this is London. I think, this is one of your best options for this price category.

The location of the hotel is perfect for travellers - especially those who come from and leave for Heathrow (we really got there in 15 min!). Lots of restaurants around, city center in 10 min underground reach... However, tou'll have to coexist with steep and narrow stairs (heavy suitcases shalt not pass!), miniscule rooms and facilities (in the single the bathroom looked more like an aircraft lavatory), breakfast from 7 to 9 and separate hot/cold water faucets (crazy british invention!).. Not recommended for romantic couples.

The room we stayed in is on the top floor of this property. There was no elevator. Climbing up the narrow staircase with our`luggage is quite a challenge. It is definitely not for people with a heart condition. The bathroom is small and warm water for shower only came intermittently. However, the hot water from the face basin tap was scalding hot. We had a double bed but the flat sheet used was of single size which means only part of the blanket was lined and that made our sleep very uncomfortable. The only redeeming factor for this hotel is the excellent breakfast served and it's convenient location. We would not stay in this hotel again . We had stayed in another hotel in London with much better value for the money than this one.

Molto positivo vicinanza metrò, colazione, pulizia, prezzo. Modesta l'accoglienza.Cmq ci tornerei

This hotel is very close (2 minute walk) from paddington Station, and is located on a quiet street on attractive Norfolk Square. The room was tiny, but adequate for the modest cost. I stayed in a single room on the top floor! It was quite an effort lugging my backpack up the narrow, creaking, windy staircase. The room was tiny and the bathroom was even smaller. I had cold showers every morning even though I continually contacted reception about it. The breakfast was nice and the location was excellent. The size of the room didn't worry me as I spent long days sightseeing and only wanted a comfy bed to lay my head at night - which is what I got. It is good value for money, especially when you compare it to other hotels in London.

Well located, with a few restaurants. The room was very clean. Our quadruple suite lack of a large window to cool the room in the hottest days( the electric fan is not enought). Good full english breakfeast.

I really liked the hotel and staff. They were very friendly and helpful, and the room was perfect for my needs. Breakfast was included, but ends at 9am. The location is great for getting around London, literally a block from Paddington Station. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, plus internet and laundry facilities in the neighborhood. Norfolk square is a small and pleasant park which makes for a nice view out the windows.

It was the first time I stayed at this hotel; I found it ok for persons who want to visit London and look for a cheap place to sleep. The room is really small but didn't botherd me.The surroundings are good and the tube station is 1 min walk from here. The english breakfast was not my favourite, but there were other options from were you could choose and make a good one. I recommend the rooms with the small bath instead of those with the bath on the holl. I would come here again, but not with my whole family.

I stayed at the Cardiff in the middle of the heightened security due to the terrorists who had been caught just the week prior. I was happy to find an internet cafe just down the block so I could check the status of my flight the next morning. The location was also very convenient, as it was only a couple of blocks from a metro station and the Heathrow Express, making it easy to get to and from the airport. The only complaint would be that I had nothing but an ice-cold shower in the morning. It may have been something I did wrong, as I could get warm water out of the sink, but I was on a tight schedule due to an early flight, so I didn't call to ask. There was no elevator up to my room, which wasn't a big deal for me, but you may want to ask for ground floor if it will be for you.

I stayed in a single room with shower & toilet. Room was very small, but OK for sleeping. Photo of single room in the advertisement exaggerates the size, and misrepresents the decor a little. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in a nice, tree-lined square, which was a welcome relief from the bustle of London. Near a variety of restaurants and good transportation. Be aware you might need to climb narrow, windy stairs.

The room and the hotel was "as advertised". No surprise you get what you have booked. The Welcoming was friendly and efficient. The breakfast (included) was correct and nicely servered. At 5 minutes from Padington station, in a quite square, it's a good place.

I had a VERY small room, but it was quite adequate for my purposes (1 night stop-over). I was upgraded to a room with a shower and toilet at no extra cost. The bathroom was small but not as unbearable as other comments suggest. Be weary of this hotel if your mobility is restricted. Despite having a room on the 'second floor' I had to go up 5 flights of stairs, or was it 4, either way it was a struggle for me on my own. Breakfast was good, plenty of food on offer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is good, some cheap food available. Very close to Paddington station so its great for connections to Heathrow airport. I would stay here again, but with much less luggage!

I thought the hotel was very acceptable for what I paid (London prices being what they are). I was unhappy, however, that even though they claim to start serving breakfast at 7:30 on Sundays, they were not ready to serve the cooked food (eggs, bacon, etc.) until almost 8:00. I had planned to eat before I left for my flight home, but this delay in service meant I could only eat the fruit and yogurt before leaving.

coutresy and helpfulness provided at any request; completely satisfactory breakfast, plenty of hoy water, cleanliness of rooms and moreover very comfortable beds; The hotel position is perfect for tourists due to short distance from transports, restaurants and pubs. Just a little complaint about the small bathroom. Anyway a place to come back at next visit to London

Very tiny rooms at rather high price, but it's London. Surely you can find cheaper but The hotel is well located : Norfolk square is a quiet place very close to Hyde park, Paddington station and buses lines to Oxford circus. Congratulations for the breakfast, ideal for long days walking across London.

Location is so convenient - tube station < 5 mins walk ( esp when have bags to tug along ) choices of restuarants within walking distance . We did so much walking to the tourist sites that we managed to save on public transportation fares! Love the breakfast and service is fast too. Overall, good value.

We are a couple with one child and we were very pleased of the 3 nights spent in this hotel. No big luxe but excellent value for the price. Of course, as already stated by other clients, the bathroom is mini but extremely clean, as the rest of the room and of the hotel. The room was surprisingly quiet. Very nice breakfast (English + buffet) included in the price. Ideal situation, 200 m from Paddington station, tube and direct bus line to downtown. Restaurants and pubs in the area. Personnel very kind and efficient. We certainly will come back.

Agneska from Poland at reception was very congenial and found her welcome inviting. Location and availability of public transport is excellent. The full breakfast and the location make it a winner if you need only a clean bed and a minimum of emenities. One does not go to London to lounge about the resort now does one? The too small shower left much to be desired...like one froma small RV or caravan. But I would not hesitate to recommend it for a good value to someone who is not looking for luxury.

Actually great for the price. Nothing fancy. Were given a basement room (4 bed), there were no windows towards the street though, so one felt pretty safe. If it had been in the summer the climate would be quite unbearable though. Even with windows fully open the air got pretty heavy. This was because the window faced an extremely small (2 square meters) backlot. The other thing that was less good about the stay was the fact that the maids once completely forgot to clean. As the matter of fact they had only been insdide the room to get all the towels and put all the glasses in the bathroom sink (hygiene??!!). We enquired for new towels in the reception, but had to enquire once more (4 hours later) to get them. Everything else was nice, and breakfast was quite ok. Great quality vs price ratio.

This is a very good b & b, only two minutes from Paddington station. Very clean as rooms are cleaned every day. Wonderful, big breakfast included. I appreciated the choice between white and brown toast and the boiled eggs. The bathroom was very small, but that's Britain... I will certainly stay at Cardiff's next time I come to London.

this hotel was well situated to visit London, near subway and bus. But the room was really very small and the bathroom (only shower with few hot water, no pression..) was like a box matches! you can't be 2 persons on the bathroom...And during our stay, the hotel was on works..So, the view by the window was very bad, dirty with many bags of destroyed materials...The radio at the head on the bed was out. But the breakfast on the underground room (but with a view on the street above..)was good and clean with choice between english or continental breakfast. The staff was sympathic in general (except the young woman at our arrival...No smile, no welcome, cold young woman from polska...)It's a reality :the prices in London are very high for the quality, like for the restaurants !

This hotel is perfect for a short stay to London. Location is great and the hotel is clean. The only downside is that the bathroom is the size of a matchbox. Shower was very very poor, hardly any hot water and leaks everywhere. If you're not fussy and don't plan on spending much time in the hotel, the Cardiff is ideal

I'm always too lazy to write back my comments about the hotels I've been to, but the service I got from this place made me feel so welcomed that I had to post my comment. The place was actually better than I thought, better than the pictures. The location is really good, just a few mins walk from paddington station, easy access to trains (to windsor) and underground. The price seemed a bit more expensive than others, but breakfast was included. The room was clean and bright. The employees there did their best at answering my questions and they even made phone calls for me to confirm airport shuttle schedules. (they confirmed for me, even though i didnt ask them to) As a girl traveling alone, I felt safe in that area after dark. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay there, and will definately return.

Das Zimmer und das integrierte Bad sind wirklich sehr klein. Allerdings ist alles äußerst sauber, das Frühstück super und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
