Hotel was in an excellent location and the staff were very helpful. would definatly stay here again. Great value for money

the room was very very small (just a little larger than the bed!)and not very clean. The wardrobe not even had the doors and no drawer was available in the room, as well as any bed light. The only positive aspect were the employees (very very kind and competent) and the breakfast, very rich and complete, though it wasn't included in the price of the room.

We had a very small room, but it was clean and overall very quiet for this part of the city; friendly and helpful staff; close to Paddington station and Hyde Park

For what I paid, I got what I expected. A no frills hotel room. We just wanted a room close to the Tube with a clean bed and a hot shower.

incompetent and rude staff - they did not provide any kind of service, even if asked. One evening we arrived at the hotel and the receptionist where no where in sight - we waited 40 min. for our key. Later we found out, he was having fun with his friends in the basement :-(

Staff at reception were very friendly, room was clean and spacious enough for 2, location was excellent, just round the corner from tube. My only fault was the full english, food was undercooked but continental was ok. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel for short stay.

The Hotel is very friendly.Don't go to the PUB called "The Pride of Paddington" because they steal! My partner had her handbag stolen from her chair while she was sitting, with our huge astonishment.Brilliant the location.Nearby there are a hospital and a police station.

As I had an online booking, I was booked in a cupboard without TV… It's not acceptable and must be corrected if Venere want to be trusted.

We traveled as a family of three and found the room clean and quiet. It was small - this is Europe - but clean and nice. This is not a hotel where you stay in the room but we toured all day and came back to sleep so it was great for us. It was very convenient to an underground station and was easy to find. We would stay there again.

I'm really disappointed and unhappy about this hotel...for my experience my room wasn't absolutely like the web pages. Receptionist weren't cordial. I don't believe I'll come back there.

Good relationship price/quality, if you are travelling on a budget, and considering that London is very expensive. Almost all of the staff is friendly and helpful. We booked online a 3-bed room for me and my daughters for a 4-night stay, and when whe arrived we asked them to see if it was possible to accomodate my wife as well, who was joining us since the third night. They made no problem, and quickly assigned us a 4-bed room that we paid as a 3-bed one for the first two nights. Good breakfast. Excellent location, 2 min walk from Paddington station, which means quick access to Heathrow, which is nice if you have to depart very early in the morning. Old building, small room, with very little space left. Floor carpet in our room was not very clean, but other than that, cleanliness was acceptable.

Excellent location right near Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Walkable to tourist attractions downtown, but far enough away to be cheaper than the hotels closer to the tourist attractions. Room was quite small, but had its own bathroom, was clean, simple, and in a great location, so it was perfect for a couple trying to stay in a decent place as cheaply as possible for a couple of days.

Great surroundings. Paddington train and underground with in 200 to 250 meters. Clean room but a little small.

More of a youth hostel feel, however the place was clean. (older, but clean) the location is fantastic, and the price (considering how horrible the US dollar is) is really a great deal. You can take the Heathrow Express in, and walk a short block to the hotel. Just a really great location. Remember you're on holiday, you're really not in your room much. We'd go back in a heart beat.

I can't fill in the form properly since we didn't stay! The confirmation said twin room, and the photos on the website was nice - but all that we was offered and was available was the smallest double room I have EVER seen! I coldn't even open my luggage! The man in the reception asked if we wanted to change to another hotel - which we more than gladly accepted! The area though, was very nice with pubs and restaurants. The reviews were good so I don't know what happened to us...

Very good price for a central location. Stayed one night - somewhat noisy installations and a relatively small room would probably mean that I would select another hotel for a longer stay.

Small room and tiny bathroom, but clean. Perfect location with subway right around the corner, and lots of shops and resturants right outside. We felt the area was safe, and think this hotel provides great value for money compared with other London hotels. PS: Make sure u see a match with Englands best team, Tottenham Hotspur, when visiting the City.

blah. would of thought it was just a city run "home" for the homeless when walking by, but it was the hotel that we just booked. the employee that checked us in was unfriendly and seemed annoyed that we had interrupted him from looking on the internet. overall the rooms and facilities could use an update. one of the beds was sunk-in the middle and tile around the shower/tub was grimy. also, one of the windows in the bathroom looked like it was broken.

The hotel was not very good, but at the same time not so bad for the price. The problem was the stink in the corridors and in the rooms, due to the carpet I suppose! People at the reception, even if not everyone, were quite rude I have to say! The room was small but ok for 2 people, and the bathroom was pretty clean. However, the sheets were not clean at all! And it's not a romantic place to stay for a couple!!!!!!

The best thing about this place was its location- just two blocks from Paddington Station, so it was easy to find and easy to see attractions using the Tube. The room was nice; the front desk employees were a little terse, however. The worst thing about our room at Hotel Edward was that the shower had no curtain and that the toilet did not flush most of the time. Besides those inconveniences, our stay in London was lovely.

We were excited when we arrived to see such a lovely building, the same when we entered the lobby, the sam e when interacting with your staff, this good feeling ceased when we were shown a dreadful room in the basement, musty, no windows toopen dark and gloomy, a sheet of wood over the window at a fire escape. The good outcome of this is when I expressed my disatisfaction the clerk gave us room 500 which was all the difference between night and day. He was so helpful in his attempt to please me and he did. The other double room was only tolerable, you could barely get luggage and 2 persons in at the same time. I have never stayed at a 2 star before so perhaps my expectaions were all wrong. Thank you for asking for feedback. Catherine ibbs

The nice things: It is very well located next to Paddington Station. The front desk and reception area is nice and clean. the awful things: the elevator was stinky and veeery old... but worst of all... the room was about 2m2 big. It was so little you had to close the bathroom door so you could open de closet or close both of them if you wanted to open the main door. Forget it if you are travelling with lots of bags... you would have to decide whether they or you should sleep inside the room. It's too much money for what you get. Never the less... we had lots of fun!

We were staying in a small twin. There was no actual view out of window. Still room was clean and a non smoking room. Interior was reduced, mainly there was beds, tv and a kettle for making tee. I think this is suitable for a short stay if you are such modest travellers like we are. Light breakfast would have been available for extra charge (5 £) but we preferret to eat somewhere else.

I was travelling with my husband, son and his family. The triple room was excellent, a suite more than a room. Mine and my husband's was rather cramped, but clean and relatively quiet. All in all, the accomodations were much more than was expected. It was within a 5 minute walk from Paddington station...even with a hyperactive 5 year old, and we were impressed by it's appearance. We arrived early in the morning and they accomodated us in a couple of hours and after a nine hour flight, it was appreciated! I do have a HUGE complaint, however, and I believe it is the fault of Venere itself. When you book accomdations on a Bed and Breakfast website, you do expect a bed as well as breakfast. This is not so. Breakfast was an extra charge. It was five pounds for the continental breakfast and an additional two pounds fifty per person for a full English breakfast. We were informed at breakfast that the meal was not included in the price of the room. I have checked the hotel's other sites and found that the breakfast was free, so what is that? It really spoiled the beginning of the day. As for tips...get brave, try the Underground....it's much easier than it seems and there are people who are more than willing to help.

My single room was very small but absolutely clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet costs only £5 and is definitely worth it. The location is great, in a very quiet street at the corner of Sussex Gardens. Several italian coffee shops for good expresso, a pub that serves good food, and a supermarket open until midnight. Paddington underground station is a couple of minutes away and extremely convenient. Altogether, a very good value for the center of London.

There have been some problems with reservation. I asked them when I had to pay, and they said that I would have to pay at my arrival, and not before. In the meantime I had to change my cradit card 'cause it was beginning to scratch exactly on the magnetic bar. Obviously even the card number has changed, and at my arrival they said that my reservation was cancelled 'cause they tried to take money from card and credit company declined. (obviosly) Anyway, as the hotel said I should pay at my arrival I didn't call to advice them of credit card change. They got my cellular number and my email, but I didn't receive any warning from them! Anyway they solved the problem giving me a triple room at same rate of double. It was a nice stay and the room was clean except for the beadspread! The environment of hotel is superb and it is 2 min of walk from paddington station.

As far as London prices are concerned, this hotel is cheap and is probably good for the price. The rooms are tiny and carpets and floors are stained but at least were kept clean. I booked a double which was confirmed but ended up with two single beds during my first stay, and an upstairs/downstairs combo room with 4 single beds and a shower with no bath the second stay. If you are looking for cheap, are not picky and do not plan on doing anything but sleeping in your room, I suppose I'd recommend the Edward, but if you are looking for comfort and a nice clean place, I'd go ahead and shell out the extra money and find somewhere else. If I were alone in London I'd stay here again, but I wouldn't take my girlfriend there again. I was embarrassed to have booked such a place for the two of us. On the plus side, the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. I applaud them all for doing their jobs very well. The clerks were great as was the cleaning staff. It's just too bad the property is not cared for more than it is. The location is very good, as its only a short walk to Paddington station and Hyde Park. There are also a few shops, restaurants, and ATM machines on the same street as the hotel.

The hotel is sufficient but, when I've arrived in the hotel, the reception has explained me that the breakfast cost was not included in the total room price! I was surprised because in the Internet system there was in the total roomm price the remarque: BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED IN THE ROOM PRICE. I showed the pages printed about the hotel presentation in Internet to explain my point of view and sudain the reception has changed idea, because he had forgot this remarque! Sudain the breakfast become included in the room price! I believe that this behaviour is unacceptable and for this reason I considered the welcoming insufficient!!! Please, be careful!

It was a nice hotel for the budget consious. the resturants were plentiful as were ATM's near the hotel. It was very close to Paddington Station and that was good. The car service the hotel found for us to the airport was fabulous. We wnjoyed it. Do not look for the best or tastefully decorated rooms. These were bare minimum but it had a great deep tub in the bath.

The location of this hotel is the only appealing factor, very close to Paddington station and shops. The outside of the hotel is nice, however the bedrooms and breakfast room were filthy, i have never experienced anything so dirty. The curtains, carpet, bed spread and blanket were so dirty i couldnt bare to touch it. A buffet breakfast was included which was good, but i soon decided not to eat anything when the tablecloths etc were completely dirty.
