Great location. I got what i had expected according to the price. The staff is very warm and helpful. I suggest to hang some pictures on the walls into the rooms. They are too empty and cold. Very good value for money.

Very nice people at reception. They speak spanish and they are very helpful. The buffet breakfast is ok. Rooms was a little small, but sufficient, and the bathroom with shower was ok. The hotel have two litfs, no waiting times to go up/down. The location is good, with quiet and nice streets around the hotel and you have a tube station 5 min walking distance.

Excellent location, not bad for the price. Continental breakfast was adequate. We stayed in the lower ground floor and could occasionally feel a slight rumble from the metro but this didnt really disturb us whilst awake or asleep. People at the front counter were helpful. Free internet. Fan in room.

Hotel was very close to paddington station which was great for the tube and heathrow express. Room and bathroom were small even by european standards. We didnt notice till after we'd checked out that we had been charged for phone calls we had made using our phone card.Would advise others to check their bill carefully. We would stay again as the area was safe and quiet and because of the proximity to transport.

The location was ideal for people willing to travel by tube (only minutes away from Paddington station). Easy and cheap (4 pounds) to navigate to when traveling from Heathrow by tube. Also a good location for bus tours (most companies will have a pickup station at the Hilton Paddington, which is across from Paddington station). The rooms were small but clean enough. The walls seem thin and you can hear whats going on in bordering rooms. We had some minor issues with the shower overflowing. Overall, the room was perfect for simply sleeping in. Not for those who spend long hours in a hotel room. The complementary breakfast was great and convenient. The restaurant only serves breakfast, but there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores in the area for other meals. Overall, a great hotel for anyone who just needs a place to sleep and shower at the end of the day, and prefers hotel privacy over that of a hostel.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms are small but it doesn't matter for just using the beds. The bathrooms were quite modern and very clean. Due to the fact that the hotel is a very old house, walls are quite thin and therefore you can here a lot. But not more as in old other houses and flats. The breakfast room was nice too and served good food. Teh location is splendid, just a few minutes from Hidepark and Oxford Street. Overall I strongly can recommend this hotel (it's a good bargain for London anyway). I definately will stay here again.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful location, the room was clean even if small but good for a short stay. People from the hotel were friendly and breakfast good too. This is the second time we've been at the Royal Eagle, I think is one of the best hotel we 've ever stayed in London.

Not bad considering we are in London, but I am quite sure you can get more for the money paid (109 GBP). The room was quite small and a bit old, bathroom clean but quiteold as well, I was at the central park hotel, and I would recommend that hotel better than this one.

I booked this room through Venere for 69£ per night. We had a warm and friendly welcome, and was excelently guided too a great Italian restaurant close to the hotel. My room was not very spacious, but cleen and OK. It was som enoice from the street outside, and a low "rumbling" throughout the whole hotel each time the metro passed - but I had a good night's sleep anyway.

Not bad for the price but the smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom was terrible. The bathrooms were in desperate need of being re-decorated. There were chips in the bath and the bathroom cabinet was falling to bits. I'm glad I only had to have one shower. The breakfast was really good, the only down side is that you had to get there early because there is not much space.

Does not rate 3 stars. Rates closer to 1 star. Toilet does not flush, shower sprays over enclosure, bathroom door rubs on floor and opens only halfway, can hear everything in corridor, no air conditioning thus must open window for fresh air and outside is noisy, room is much too small for a double bed, breakfast room is crowded and smell of burnt toast is present. All in all, a pretty cheap place.

Our stay at this location was shocking: for the $200/night we stay in one so called triplet, but it was a small two beds room where they squished one more bed. The room was clean, but they change the towels/bed sheets ones at every 5 days, and I am not joking. They charge 1 pound (=$2) for every phone you dial out , even when is in London or with your own calling card. For the price they charge, they should cover this !!!!, but I guess they do not know that not too many people will return for next visit in London. It is such a think competition, they will find out soon. Breakfast is very simple, clean and boring. But I guess when you pay $200/per night you do want some variety? The good part is the location: 3 min from Paddington Station (train and Underground), clean area and some restaurants around. On top of all this we had been evacuated at 1:00 am because they had some electrical shorts and the fire alarm started. We stay 3 hour outside in the street in a middle of the night, and we where charged for!!!!!. I will go there only if they will pay me for staying in the hotel. Very poor English ambiance for this hotel.

Its my second time staying in Royal Eagle, but I still dont like the hotel service. Besides, they're just taking very slow progress in checking in and out. Also, the continental breakfast isnt as good as I expected. Or I should say, even worse than B&Bs. However, the location of Royal Eagle Hotel is perfect. Its just within 5 min walking distance from either Paddington tube or train station. Also, the price quoted in Venere is pretty good. If you dont mind the services or facilities, or if you're looking for a budget hotel, this would be the one for you.

Stayed overnight at The Royal eagle before flying out from Heathrow. Conveniently located near Paddington train station for the Heathrow Express train service. Room was basic but very clean and comforatble bed, water pressure low in shower (usual for most of London!!)and staff at reception although very efficient were not overly friendly. However with the price of the room I would recommend this as a place to stay if you just want somewhere to sleep in and are not overly concerned with a 5* service

This is a very average hotel but with good price/quality relationship. We got a basement family room which was very clean and the beds were confortable. Being close to Paddington station you get to hear (and feel) the trains (or underground) leaving on a regular basis, but after the initial impact you get used to it, and it doesn't interfere with your sleeping. All the staff were very friendly and helped with every request we made. Breakfast wasn't great, it was rather limited in choice and the quality of the products available wasn't the best, but still it was enough to start the day. People visiting London without much money to spend should consider this hotel.

The rooms are very small (particularly the bathroom) but this should be expected of a London hotel. The toilets didn't flush as well as I would have liked, but again London plumbing is what it is. Overall the room was acceptable and I would stay here again. The location is fantastic with Hyde Park just down the street and several nearby tube stations. The staff didn't seem to understand English very well and when asked questions that they didn't know the answer to (which unfortunately for us were many), they did not offer to help find the answer which was disappointing. This could very well be a cultural difference though, as in Canada it would be expected of the staff. I would make sure that you do research beforehand to find out what you want to know about the city.

It was a rip off. Pay 80-100GBP per day and room is no bigger than a toilet. Beds were small and linens were old. Bathroom/toilet can fit in your car boot. breakfast was cheap. nothing fancy. we were 2 and since the double room was very small, we checked with reception if we can get a triple bed so that we can strech our legs. he said even 3 bed would be small!!! didn't go any further. overall, it was a rip off for nothing.

If you are a single traveler and need a room more or less in the center of London, for a night or two, the Royal Eagle is a good bargain. We are a family of four and stayed in London for a weekend in September. The hotel is very nicely situated in Paddington - near Hyde Park. The underground station is very close as well as the next bus stop. The ambulance cars to and from St. Mary`s hospital nearby made the nights a bit noisy. :-(( So we didn`t sleep very well which was also due to the fact that the beds were very hard. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay - the employees being very friendly and helpful. :-)) We would rebook this hotel again.

We are a family of four; two adults and two girls at 13 and 17. We booked a room for four persons for our four days holiday in London, and we got exactly what we wanted. The room (No 216) was not large, but functional with two floors. It was equipped with TV, hairdryer, safe box and plenty of hot water in the shower/tub. The room seems to be newly renovated; the bathroom was tiled and there was parquet on the other floors. We got the same impression of the hotel as so; it is an old building but at least parts of it is renovated and that work is still going on in parts of the house. The breakfast was simple (continental) but OK. The staffs responsible for the reception, the breakfast and cleaning of our room were friendly, helpful and professional. From the hotel we had only two minutes walking to Paddington station with a lot of bus- and underground-lines. That is quit ideal for tourists visiting London, but on the other hand the central location is at the same time a problem because of heavy traffic. The noice from the traffic made it a little difficult to sleep with the window open at night. But, that is the only negative aspect we can report from our stay at the hotel and I am sure we will come back! Kåre Olsen, Norway

In order to describe your breakfast as full continental, you should probably consider some more options - like ex. cheese and ham to put on the bread and perhaps some fresh fruit - that would have been really nice. There are a lot of places where you can have fresh baked bread with ham and cheese, so we ended up not using the vouchers and paying for breakfast somewhere else. We (family with 2 teenage children) spent a x-mas weekend in London. The staff was very friendly. First of all we endet up in a nice room, but unfortunately with only three beds. Fortunately the receptionist got it sorted out quickly. It was very handy to be close to Paddington station, coming into London as well as sightseeing London. We disliked the situation at breakfast, when we had to queue in order to get a table for 4, which we almost never had. Unfortnuately the bar was close in the evenings and with two children under the age of 18 and thus not allowed into any British pub, we parents would have loved a night cup at the hotelbar.

London is rather well known to offer a poor hotel standard, especial when it comes to budget acommodation. Though you can pick better and worse hotels. Royal Eagle could be one of the better. However, in that case they need to put in more effort and ambition. The welcoming was rather confusing. Hello, we are here now! And we had to pay our room in advance. I'm not use to do that. We had to carry our luggage by ourselves - that is OK for us. Though, if you are eldery you would of course appreciate service. The room was quit OK by London standards for a budget stay. I mean, you can pay more at other hotels and have the same standard. Even if we were lounging for the small country inns or the hotels we have been sleeping in when travelling around Europe. If you want to be in a cosy place - this is not it. If you want to stay at an OK place that's clean you'll find it OK. Included in the price was a continental breakfast. The breakfast room is small. Very small! Every morning it was over crowded and people (yes we to) had to wait to find seats. It was chaos! The two young people working in the breakfast room where very friendly and did their best. It was not much they could do to the situation. The space needed should be at least 3 times bigger. So instead of having a relaxing breakfast it was rather stressing with all the people standing around waiting for a table. The breakfast itself is not much to say about. Toast, tea/coffee, croissant (well sort of), butter and marmelade and sometimes chocolate muffins. Yes, there were serials as well. No fruit, no cheese, no sausage, no egg... It was a sugar shock for the body and it felt cheap. Would I then recommend this hotel? Yes, if you are prepared on what there is to expect. And it was a rather modest price we paid. If you on the other hand want to feel appreciated, feel that some one takes care of you or at least notice you... then go and pick some other hotel! With some more ambition, some more professional service attit

I had arrived late at night and did not have a room assigned to my reservation. It took awhile, but they eventually gave me a room (and a double for the price of a single). The room was a little small, but very clean. Bathroom was very nice. Breakfast was standard, but you had to wait for a seat and that part was a little disorganized. Overall, great location, great price and would recommend it.

I can really recommend this hotel. It is clean and has a very friendly and competent staff. The price is justified. Royal Eagle is located next to Paddingto station allows quick access to the ´tube´ and numerous bus lines. Next time I´ll come to London I will book this hotel again.

The bar in the hotel was closed every evening. As a guest with children, I miss a place to take a drink in the afternoon.

The location of the hotel is very convenient for city travel and the price is good. The friendliness of receptionist is doubtful as a lady kept saying "there is nothing I can do" when the hotel is out of water and heater. She certainly can apologise to all guests for the inconvenience caused and put on a friendly face instead of a long face at the frustrated guests.

The hotel is quite good location, close to Paddington station. The relationship between price and quality is all right. The best are receptionist employees. They are fantastic¡¡ Even though single rooms are very small and outside rooms have a little bit of noise of traffic.

This was our first trip abroad and of course you hear all kinds of horror stories and even some with the reviews. Even though we were forewarned about the size of the rooms & plumbing, we were very pleased. We needed a triple and they were not easy to come by in Europe. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the prices quoted were never questioned, the area was extremely nice and walking distance to Paddington train station (where we were able to hop on to go to Bath for the day). We had one minor problem and that was a little difficulty flushing the toilet. But we did not even bother reporting it. The breakfast was different from what we expected but it was never the less very nice. We had no complaints and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

L'albergo è tenuto bene, centrale (vicino alla stazione di Paddington e Lancaster). la colazione è abbondante anche se non eccessivamente varia. Se andassi nuovamente a Londra tornei al Royal Eagle

We had a good price through booking via your homepage; but all in all the description you provided was too good, because the staff is not very friendly, the rooms are extrem small and the noise from the street is really too much. It is not correct to decribe the hotel as a first class hotel - this is definitive not the case. It is a middle class tourist hotel, which is okay for a low price, it is good located for tourists but you can not really relax in so small rooms with a shower that do not work in an appropriate way. And a first class hotel must have aircondition - I think. But at the end ot the day - we did not expect so much for the relatively low price and therefore the stay was okay - but I recommend to correct your description a bit, because if people pay a higher price, I think they would be entitled to complain about the hotel and the misleading description. Bye, Heike
