GUEST ROOMS
double room classic
The unique character of this Victorian building is inherent in the individuality of size, shape, furnishings and decor of each and every bedroom.
The classic bedrooms contain either one double bed or two single beds and have been created to provide comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
Wherever possible, a special or pleasant feature has been incorporated into some of these bedrooms. Such a feature could range from a recessed desk area to split level or terrace or veranda. These rooms face either the back garden and car park (which is very quiet) or overlook Hyde Park (front of the building).
The deluxe bedrooms are available as twin or double bedded. They offer a high level of luxury and comfort for the most discerning guests with an atmosphere of an elegant country house living room rather than a city centre hotel. They are fully air-conditioned and furnished with accessories and objects d'art reflecting the highest standard of elegant Victorian living.
These rooms can offer any of a range of wonderful additional features such as furnished balcony, antique fireplace, galleried split-level or four poster bed.
Most of the deluxe twin bedrooms face the back garden and car park (which is very quiet) and all the Deluxe double rooms are overlooking Hyde Park (front of the building).

Very nice and practical hotel, especially for families. Competent and welcoming staff. Beware, some rooms at ground level are noisy (across a crossroad and a bus stop). Prefer higher levels. Very convenient location +++

The room we stayed in at the London Elizabeth was more befitting a tired 2-star than a 3-star hotel. Almost every piece of wood had a chip out of it and every piece of wallpaper had a tear. Having said that, the bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast room looks nicer in the photo's than in reality; watch the wobbly tables, for instance! The staff were polite and efficient. One curious thing they did upon check-in was to pre-authorise my credit card. What this meant was that, although we had a total amount for our stay, they charged my card £25 more than that. Upon querying this I was told that it was simply to ensure that I could pay for my stay (the addition was for any ill-advised mini bar raids). Since returning from our trip and looking at my credit card statement the amount in question was debited and credited back within seconds of one another. Curious, but nothing underhand. To sum up our stay at the Hotel London Elizabeth, I would say that it was overpriced for the quality of the decor, etc. I therefore wouldn't recommend it to my friends but perhaps I would to my mother-in-law. ;)

Hotel location just next to Hyde Park as well as the tube station is excellent, especially for those who want to go sightseeing. Our room was rather small and old, but very clean, maintained every day. Wifi connection (included in price) was operating at good service, but access rights expired every night at 2300. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The hotel had its own "romantic" athmosphere. A breakfast was rather poor, but one could choose an English boiled breakfast for a small fee of 4 GBP. The lift in the hotel was very small - assigned for 3 persons which was very optimistic. Generally speaking, nothing to complain about, but comparing with other countries the price was relatively high, even although it was a "low cost" hotel.

Hotel was nice, somewhat expensive. Staff was very good for the most part. Directions to hotel from Paddington Station could be much better. Very easy to the Tube & buses for getting around City, once you know where you are going.

Great location jsut around the corner from Lancaster Gate Tube stop. The room was very clean. I had a room at the front of the hotel, seemed like a good idea but it was too noisy at night as there is a bus stop at the front of the hotel. The front desk staff were great, the breakfast staff were nice but need more training. I would definitly stay there again.

Good location, literally less then one minute walk from the underground Lancast Gate Station. Our quad room is quite spacious. Bathroom is fairly large and spacious. Very nice and pleasent lobby and breakfast area. Friandly and helpful staff. Old wondow does not provide good enough insulation for street noise for our room.

The position is really excellent. The hotel is very very nice. I stayed in a very big room with lovely bathroom but VERY VERY noisy (it was on the lower floor just on the road with cars, buses and people walking in front of my windows...). Another room was very nice but with a pending floor...so we had a bit of head turn arounds....

Room was bigger than expected. But I would not walk barefoot on the carpet. There is a nice patio in the back, good for groups who do not want to stay downtown too late at night. One computer available in a lounge with internet access free. Fireplace in the lobby. Breakfast is included (buffet) but not extraordinary. It does the job. The closest to Hyde Park and to tube. For 85 pounds, it was a lovely place. Staff was more than nice, really really helpful.

we stayed at the Elizabeth for our wedding anniversery and when we arrived found we had been allocated single beds but this was quickly resolved and apologies were made, the new room we had was fab, the breakfast was lovely we stuck to the continental which was ample enough, the situation of the hotel is absloutely fantastic, with tube station and hyde park a stones through, as well as a fab resturant on the corner, my husband and i jogged round hyde park in the moring and visited other attractions easily reached on tube in this great location and lovely hotel , definately will go back .

I traveled from paris with my family (my wife and 2 kids) and we have had a very nice stay at the london elizabeth hotel. Good quality of service, and good location for what we wanted to do (on hyde park and close to the heart of london). Many buses + lancaster gate subway station (central line) The only problem was the noisy room we got : above the crossroad + neighbours. The hotel is a bit old, furniture especially, and the lift is very narrow and slow. But the personel tries to make you forget these bad points though: the employees are very nice and dedicated to your needs.

London is not a cheap city. And this hotel confirm this theory. But it is at 10mt from the Lancaster Gate underground station. And at 20Mt from one of the most important Hyde park access. Lancaster gate is in the center of london, at only 1 metro station (central line) from Oxford Street. The Hotel is clean and rooms very large. But breakfast is not special and price very very hight (150 Euro/night for a double room). Internet Access is completly free and WIFI working on every room (ask for the password at reception). Rooms are not perfectly the same as shown on pictures, but they are very very similar. So, if you are searching for a decent hotel in a fantastic and logistic place, this is the hotel for you.

Although the location is excellent and the staff very friendly, the hotel is shabby and some of the rooms need refurbishing urgently. Breakfast was excellent, food in the restaurant was lovely although service was slow.

Acceptable for a stay close to HydePark and not too far away from the center of town. A little too expensive, though - I would always suggest someting a little cheaper and a little bit further away (like in Notting Hill). Breakfast is poor and you really have to whatch out that you don't get a room facing the street. In the first night we had such a room (a bus stop in front of our window) and we could not sleep longer than abot 10 times 10 minutes ;-) Overall not a bad place but certainly nothing I would suggest to a friend or I would stay at a second time... !!!

We had an excellent stay at London Elizabeth. The location is ideal, a few steps from the bus and Metro. I would definitely stay there again. The rooms were nice. The breakfast was fine. We had the European style included in the rate. Hot breakfast was ~4pounds extra. My teenage daughter loved the croissants, muffins, yogurt of the European Style Breakfast. They had free wireless internet which was convenient. It was not always working through the entire stay, but it was pretty reliable. The staff were very helpful, although not all information was adequate. Many things were closed on New Year's Day and we actually were easily able to get tickets for an exhibition at the British Museum, both things were contray to information from staff, but they tried to be helpful and some things just warrant checking on your own. Also we needed an extra bed for a guest during our visit. We found out that "cot" means "crib"...so don't get confused by that.

Excellent service from the receptionists. Nice and comfortable hotel as british hotels go. It was old and showing, but the rooms were clean and tidy. The bathroom solution could have been better, but also this was at all times nice and clean. WiFi Access as promised. The closeness to Hyde Park, the Underground, buses etc. made it very good. The only major let down was that there is only a single layer of glass towards the street, making the noise from outside quite noticable. A double layer would have made it a lot quieter. So if you sleep lightly this is not the hotel for you. I have been told they have rooms towards the back garden which are supposed to be nice and quiet, but I was not able to obtain one. PS the elevator is very small and not for claustrophobic people.

My room was located at the dark basement floor. Hallway was under repair, so the first impression was "Oh no!". However I became felt better as I got used to it. The room was spacious and clean though it is old. It was uneasy to open curtain and window because the parking site is just outside of the window and the ground is at that level.

We were very pleased with our stay. We were close to the underground and Hyde Park was across the street. We had a waitress from Poland for dinner one night and each morning at the buffet who was super. She even helped us get a cab when we were leaving. Sorry I don't remember her name. The room was quite noisy as it is facing to a busy road thus might be though during hot summer with open window. As it was not as hot as I require opening the window when I stayed there, it did not disturb me so much to sleep. The room was very small. The room was just full with 4 single beds placed just like a puzzle. However, acceptable when compare to the price I paid especially in London. Location was great as it is less than a minute to the underground station and plenty of bus stops were located around the hotel. It is also walking distance from Paddington Station thus good for those utilize Heathrow Express.

This hotel is very conveniently located to Paddington Station - about a 10 minute (safe) walk. Because of this, it makes it attractive to stay here after taking the train in from the Airport. It is across the street from a Tube station that is reasonably close to where I go (Bond St., Oxford Circus, etc.), so it's quite quick to get where I want to go in the morning. The bed was a _little_ tired / standard. The desk space was adequate for a business user to do their work. The bathroom sink counter was showing some age. But the rest of the fixtures were high quality. The free-standing closet and drawer furniture were perfectly adequate for several days' stay, and was big enough to handle luggage storage.. Most important to me, the wireless Internet worked flawlessly - which was the only place in the 3-country trip I did (this time) that did so. And, it was free (built into the room cost.) One note: The lift (elevator) is terribly small. One person plus a rolling suitcase will fill the small compartment. If 2 people are travelling, plan on riding up separately. This is definitely a place I'll stay again.

The hotel was ok, and not very expensive. They were redecorating the very narrow corridor(which was needed)which leeded to our room. The workers seemed a little bit surprised that we where coming. And they clared up so we could pass through. Not very much space in the room, but for that price, and remembering that we were just going to sleep there it was all that we needed. No problem to sleep there another time!

The location of the hotel is great for exploring London. Outside noise from the street is loud but is pretty standard for large cities. The quad on the forth floor they put us in was incredibly cramped. The elevator didn't work on the last day and we had to haul our luggage downstairs by ourselves. When my wife spoke to an employee about the elevator, she was told "it's not working". Duh. There was no offer to help with the luggage or even to call someone to help. We had a room on the 4th floor of this hotel. I would avoid using the stairs while carrying luggage, otherwise not too far to the top level for any reasonably fit traveller, the small lift is available for others, or with luggage. Room was huge and very nicely appointed, especially for the price. Our room fronted onto Lancaster Gate whice is a very busy traffic interchange. Double glazed windows, when closed, let in very little traffic noise from the busy street below. The trouble was, our room was uncomfortably hot, even in late September. The ceiling fan had only a small effect which meant we had to have the windows open during the day (room was cooler at night). The traffic noise with the windows open was about the same as if we were standing at the bus stop next to the hotel!! Thats my only quibble with what was otherwise a pleasant stay. Continental breakfast included or you can pay extra for cooked english brekky. Fantastic location as mentioned, with buses and tube right outside the door and the grounds of Hyde Park across the road. Would stay again but with a room not on the top floor and not facing the street.

Well positioned for easy access into London, literally 1 minute from tube stop, excellent to have car parking round the back of the hotel especially in London. Would definately recommend

I was a little nervous about booking a hotel through a third party but, I must admit I am pleasantly surprised. We had a beautiful room in a lovely hotel and great location for a great deal!

A good accomodation, considering a three-stars hotel. Very kind and helpful staff. Very good underground connection

Charming property with a very good situation in the city. Unfortunately, the noise level (no soundproofing) made it impossibleto have a normal night !

This is the third time i have stayed at this hotel and never been disappointed. It is a real treat to have breakfast freshly cooked to order and be able to park the car for a very moderate price. Shame the lift isn't a little larger!!

Another great stay with venere.com. 1 room was smaller than I would have liked. Overall though this is a great hotel.

The hotel was very nice, and the staff very service minded. The room was nice and big, although the floor was a bit uneven. The only thing I feel I can really complain about, though, is the lift, which was ridiculously small (could not fit more than one person and a suitcase in there). In general I was very happy with my stay.

Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant. We were accomodated in a nice room, very clean and tidy. All the workers from the hotel were very nice and were always pleased to help us in everything. The location of the hotel is great, just in front of Hyde Park and near to the tube and other atractions are easily reach by foot.

Hotel was beautiful, although seems expensive this is really quite a good price for a very good hotel. Street noise was busy and large construction site was on the opposite side of street, but traffic was too noisy for construction to be a probem anyway. Overall was a great stay.

I had spoken with the hotel on 2 occasions to stress that a 1st or 2nd floor non-smoking room was required. I was told this was not a problem. I was therefore a little disappointed on arrival to find that my requests had not been met and was offered a 4th floor room. In the end we found ourselves in a smoking basement room. Due to a generator of sorts outside our room we were unable to have our window open but fortunately it was not too hot. That said, to room was spacious and tastefully furnished. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was more than sufficient.

It was not a familyroom. As confirmed. The room was to small for 4 persons! The noise level from the Street was in the night very high! The Breakfast was ok!

We spent several nights at the London Elizabeth in February. Thought the value for our money was good. Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was better good. The front staff was helpful. The location was great, right across the street from the tube station and right on the bus line. We walked to restaurants at Queensway. I would request a room on the back of the hotel as the rooms overlooking the street have a lot of street noise at night from the traffic below. Would recommend and stay again.

What a great stay! Hotel is in an excellent location at the top of Oxford St overlooking Hyde Park. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms and common areas very plush, cosy, and comfortable. We cannot praise this hotel enough.
