Top location,as there are 2 tube stations 5 minutes away, one is the central line, the other is the district and circle line and of course paddington is a 10 minute walk away.Good shopping in Queensway Tesco also.Great safe area for women on their own at night,I was travelling with my 18 year old daughter and we had no hassles at any time. The staff at the hotel were really lovely and welcoming,we loved the breakfast ladies asking in their european accents if we would like breakfast, english breakfast, and it was always cooked hot and fresh to order, there was also cereal and toast included and really great coffe also .My only reservation about the hotel would be there is no lift in the building, but apart from that, I would be only too happy to recommend it and stay there again.

The hotel offers a very good quality/price. The room where we stayed was big, although I could hear a kind of water noise coming from somewhere, maybe the building next to the hotel. The bathroom was very small, but new, it could have been cleaner... However, if your budget is not very high, London is so expensive!, it's a good place to stay.

Nice budget hotel, friendly staff, lovely women serving breakfast, though it was poor. Very cold in the room, draught from the window, no extra blankets provided, not even efter request. Tube map in the lobby was not updated since the early 80's. People working in the reception were very friendly and helpful. It was a bit tricky to find the hotel. It was situated in a quite are, less than 10 min alk to Lancaster Gate and Paddington underground.

Stay was okay for London at this price. Pros: recently updated bathroom, flat screen TV, very spacious room. Was a little disappointed in the accomodations--I booked a triple--there were 2 twin beds and a roll away that was folded up in the corner--the linens looked like they might have been on the rollaway for a while. In addition--no lift and we were on the top floor (3rd?). Otherwise, the stay was fine, and breakfast was good.

I stayed at the caring hotel with my mum for two nights. I did not expect to get such a clean & modern room for the price and location. I would stay again, without a 2nd thought. great value for money and staff were very helpful, nice area also. I needed a lower level floor for my mum, this was no problem after I emailed the hotel. Still a few stairs but appreciated the hotel taking her situation in to consideration. A+++++

It was a good hotel. Quiet, close to Hyde Park. Expensive for continental standards, but not expensive for English standards, given that many hotels there are less quality. The room was not big, but clean. Breakfast had sausages, bacon, eggs... but you had to be in the breakfast room soon enough, or it will be finished!

Prima volta a Londra.

The hotel was undergoing renovations which might have annoyed some travelers, but we were simply surprised that there wasn't much noise from it which suggests that the walls are quite soundproof.

We stayed at Caring Hotel for two nights during a whirlwind trip to London about a week and a half ago. The location was great (in a quiet area near a short walk from a metro stop), the breakfast was wonderful, reception was friendly and helpful, and we had a great time. After long days visiting busy London, it was wonderful to return to our quiet part of town for some rest. Also, it was closer to Notting Hill for some great shopping and eating.

We stayed at Caring hotel second time. This time the room was bigger and refurbished, in the room was a big plazma TV (with many channels missing). However as they are still rebulding the hotel there were some uncomfortable shortages of power and at 8 am in the morning upstairs workers started making noises, which bad if You are still sleaping. Anyway I am looking forward when all the hotel will be done like our room was, ir will be great, lets hope thay will not ask form more money :)

hotel caring is quite conveniently located just less than 15min away from the nearest tube station. Welcoming was fine, they upgraded our room to one with shower and toilets inculded. But the room was situated downstairs next to the breakfast room. the view from the window was very disapointing: it overlooked a small yard with construction material in it...Still, the bathroom seemed to be brand new and so very clean. As for the room itself, it was of decent size a bit dirty in the corners with minimun very old fashioned furniture. double bed was 2 single beds put together but the sheets were very clean. Despite some small negative points, I would recommend this hotel to my friends since the relationship price/quality is fairly good : it's London...

Chose this hotel because of its proximity to paddington station and it appeared to be on a quiet side street. Our room was located in the front and was very noisy both from noise outside the hotel and within. Very thin walls and creaky floor boards, so could hear people moving about in room above and talking in adjacent room. Hotel located just 10 minute walk from Paddington station. Room was stuffy with unpleasant odor, so we had to sleep with the window open. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean, but the bed spread was stained, so we removed it from bed. Fresh clean towels provided daily. Room rate was very reasonable for London and breakfast plentiful.Hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so should improve when completed. Would recommend asking for room in the back if staying here.

Hotel and room is clean. We had room #20, the room is quiet because the view is not on the street. There is no double bed, but twin beds together which was not mentioned on booking. A lot of space because we had bathroom in the room (recently rebuild bathroom was nice) Surrounding of hotel was not pleasant due to building constructions in the street, but nevermind. The Caring Hotel is a very basic hotel that is undergoing internal re-decoration works at the moment (Feb 2008). Price is a winning point as well as location. Everything went as expected as per reviews read in Venere on this hotel. Great location, helpful staff, large breakfast including flakes, toasts, English breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, juices and coffe. We got the room in the basement (room F, next to the Breakfast Room). Nothing to do with people's warnings. The Room was very clean, it was wide and comfortable. Furnishing was old fashioned and simple, but just perfect for a tourist that will spend all day long walking London and just needs a comfortable and clean bed and a clean toilett. Not a noise could be heard coming from other rooms. Maybe some slight noises from the corridor or the breakfast room, but really nothing disturbing at all. It is true, though that when breakfast was being prepared in the morning, there was some smell of food around the place, but nothing so exagerated as people claims here. I think that complaining about that insignificant smell in the morning is completely exagerated. People is very penickety. Not a problem for me. By The way, the Toilett was new, just refurbished. Looked like we were using it for the first time. It was small but really clean, new and made us feel very comfortable. Clean towels and blankets changed every day. Very Quiet and safe neighborhood, close to Queensway Station better than Paddington. Excellent connections everywhere by metro and bus. I will recommend it to anyone going to London for tourism who doesn't want to pay a fortune for a bed. I would definetely go there if I was to visit London again.

Small rooms, no lift, few luxuries...but then this isn't a 5- or even 3-star hotel. For a 2-star hotel it's very clean, bright, & safe. The staff are friendly & helpful. The location is ideal: near shops, restaurants, Hyde Park, Paddington, 4 tube stops, & night buses. An excellent bargain overall.

I'd looked for a budget, quiet hotel in a good area with good transport facilities, and the basic large double room (excellent matrasses)with its private bathroom (very small however)was really what I had looked for. No elevator but 2 floors is not a great effort.

I needed a one night stay in London and found this Hotel to be perfectly adequate as well as very nice. Parking was easy at the meters outside the Hotel although I had used the advice of the website and parked in a nearby multistory. A quick walk got us to a central line tube stop, the room was warm and clean and breakfast was tasty but simple.

Caring Hotel was very good, they offered what it was indicated on the web page, It is true that if your room was in 3rd or 4th floor you have to go through the stairs and arrive breathless it was a good exercise. Breakfast was OK, I missed the baked beans, I think they can add it to the English breakfast. Hotel surroundings were very usefull, bus stop at 200 m, metro stations at 400 m, plenty of restaurants, groceries, etc. Staff very friendly, in general I recommend this hotel if you are not very posh and you use it for sleeping.

Even taxi drivers have a hard time finding the place so have an accurate map of the zone prepared before arrival, type the address at google maps and print it along with your confirmation. The room was ok though a little depresive, adding nicer decorations to make the environment more cheerful would be my advise to the management. Staff is really helpful and always nice, congratulations. Vast breakfast offering lots of options for all kind of diet.

A very good deal for couple of days spent in probably the most expensive European city (I will say 50% higher than Paris). The surroundings are nice, Bayswater/Queensway stations are very close to the hotel (about 10-15 minutes walk). You can either take the subway (faster) but I will strongly recommend a 3.5 pounds 1 day bus travelcard, so you can actually see how London looks like. I will also say that since your payed for London, take a trip to Windsor castle. It's far more beautiful than the Tower of London and you can find one day trips at the local agencies that also includes Stonehenge or Oxford.

Great location in a quiet street near subway and nice restaurants. Room was a bit dirty, could not put anything on top of the closet as it was too dusty there. Usually I am not very picky when it comes to room size, but this was like a broom closet with a bed in. I think the room could have been like 4 square meters, the bathroom being 1 of it. But if you want to live cheap and are not going to spend any time in the room except sleeping, the hotel was just fine. Never tried the breakfast, as it ended at 9-to early for us-but I was woken up every morning by the smell of fried bacon in our room, and we were on the 2nd floor, so can just imagine how it must be to sit in the breakfast room, your clothes have to be smelling of bacon the rest of the day.

Hi, a friend of mine and I went to this hotel last week and got a warming welcome (evening). I mistook on boarding my room (my personal confusion between double and twin room) so I asked the receptionist for a change (wednesday...). In a while we moved from the room 22 (small) to the 12 (larger) without price increases. Good breakfast, you can eat what you will. Unfortunately, if you are sleeping, maybe the English breakfast smell could raise and penetrate into your room. We payed exactly what showed at the venere's page. We payed cash.

We were in Caring hotel a week end in november. The location is excellent but the hotel is not so good (not so good as reported in the comments we read on this web site). We had a room larger than expected (we reserved a room for two but we had a quadruple room) but it was not so clean: we found a used soap with the hair of the previous customer on the sink!!! The breakfast was quite good. Certainly next time we will look for something better!

We have just returned from London where we went to see a football game (England-Croatia). We stayed in hotel Caring for 3 nights. The hotel is about 6-7 minutes walk from Paddington underground station or 2 minute walk from Bayswater bus stop (it's very close to city centre). The taxi to Victoria rail station costs only 13 ponuds! We booked in advance a triple room with private bathroom. The room was quite big with comfortable beds and the bathroom was new and very clean. The rate was really good, only 84 ponuds a night. Considering the breakfast, it was English each day (eggs, sausage and bacon along with toast, cereals and juice). Staff was very kind and helpful. We can recommend you this hotel.

This is a perfect traditional London B&B, with an exceptionally pleasant staff and much better than average full English breakfast. Our only problem: frequently we were unable to get COLD water from our room sink -- at times, the cold water was dangerously scalding hot, and we had to go to the bath to get cold water for drinking, brushing teeth, and washing hands safely. The staff blamed the "old plumbing." It was the only thing wrong with our stay, and it seems that fixing this plumbing problem would save enough money in water heating expense to pay for the repair. This was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect visit.

You get what you pay for. The facilities at Caring are out-of-date, worn, even shabby. However, the location is excellent, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, it is reasonably quiet, the staff are very helpful, and the "included" breakfast is quite good. We would not stay there again because we are used to better facilities and can afford to pay for them, but for economy accomodation in London, the Caring offers reasonable value.
