The Comfort Inn Notting Hill, recently converted by linking 5 impressive Victorian Town Houses is situated in a quiet street in the heart of Notting Hill, close to Kensington Palace and within a short travelling distance from Knightsbridge, Kensington and Oxford Street.
The hotel has a comfortable restaurant and cocktail bar where guests can relax and is served by two lifts. It is an excellent base for both business and leisure travellers.
From Notting Hill Gate underground station, exit and turn into Notting Hill Gate, then turn immediately right into Pembridge Gardens. The hotel is located 20 meters away on the left hand side.
London's famous antiques market in Portobello Road is a few minutes walk away, so are a wide range of shops, cinemas and restaurants.
Extremely dirty - I wanted to grab a Swiffer and just run it across the bathroom floor! Not to mention the huge stains on the obviously previously used sheets! Hotel staff (especially Wasim) acted as if we were interrupting their livelhood by asking them for directions, wake-up calls, etc. The price for what you get was outrageous, even for London. I would stay someplace else; even a hostel is probably better.

Very samml washbasin in the bathroom, was not enough to clean a hand. Stairs inside a very narrow room. TV set with 3 channels.

We were given a room under the street level with a view of the back wall, the toiled did not flush properly and the whole room and especially bathroom did not seem renovated for years. The location was excellent but that was about it.

I guess the price was a good deal for London, but London is very expensive. What we paid for this room would have bought us a very nice room in the US with a full breakfast. We didn't realize the breakfast was extra so that was a disappointment considering we only ate because we thought it was free and then only had a piece of bread! The room was extremely warm and inconveniently located down a long hall and thru two additional doors before reaching our room. It was a fairly dumpy room but the bathroom was HUGE with a very large tub, which was nice. We would stay there again only because it is a great location and as prices go in London, it was a good price.

We stayed 6 nights...the first night's room was a joke. 7 feet wide and two twin beds...one at each end of this long room. Shower scalded or froze your body...not pleasant. Noise from street-moderate. Paper thin door separating adjoining room. Could not use TV...would have kept neighbor awake...the door was that thin.
Second through 6th night...we moved across the hall and down one floor. Very quiet, room more conventional (square)...worked out fine for remaining nights...shower only marginally better. This hotel is in a great location. If they spent 100 pounds on each room, fixing minor problems and another 5000 pounds on other problems (both elevators were not running the day we left...not easy when you are moving bags to street level)the place would be pretty acceptable.
